The Jae Birds out and about

V&A lobby

First Floor of the Tate Modern

Downstairs in the National Gallery

Here are some photos of us out and about seeing how the leaflet display would work in the situation it was created for.

The Finale

The Jae Birds have been released.

After 4 weeks of long flight we have finally achieved something that we are happy and satisfied with. I am glad that we followed our manitesto and made good use of our talents. I have underestimated the power of a group could have, this would never be done by myself.

Jae Birds is a group that go with the flow, you never know what is going to happen in the next minute. As Amy and Emma say, this project is a bit apprehensive in the beginning, but then working with them makes this project smoother and easier. A clear direction has been made by the Jae Birds at the end of the journey.

This is a valuable experience and I will always miss working with the Jae Birds.

Final Flight

Don't you just love all the bird jokes.

This is probably the only piece of work that we have done individually. This is my personal reflection on this project and our Jae Bird collaboration. I have honestly loved this project. I wont lie and say that I wasn't apprehensive about it at first but I wanted to try something that was out of my comfort zone, which this was and it was great. I enjoyed not knowing what was going on at the beginning and all the meeting points at pubs and galleries, it opened me up to other experiences.

Working in a group was interesting. We generally work well with each other, I know it's what everyone says but I mean it. We met up a couple of times a week and we threw lots of ideas in the pot and got rid of the silly ones and worked on the ones we wanted and felt we could run with. At the beginning we all had our own ideas and we went off and worked on them and then came back and collaborated to see what we could do to further them.

This blog has been great. It's been a good way to keep in touch and see how our progress has gone. I love the fact that every time I have gone on something has changed or has been posted. It exciting as well as interesting. We have been able to influence each other when we aren't together and when we are. Even till the last part of this project have we been collaborating as a group.

Like our name we have many layers and I feel that that is what has mad us work, rather than try to create a brand new person out of all of us we have seen that we each have our talents and luckily they were all different and all the parts that you need to make a good team. That has been our focus all through this journey to use our layers. Our group name is made up of us, the final piece is layers of us and our whole experience has been finding out new layers of ourselves and each others.

Right that is me done with the sharing. Its been a great project and a great team now Im gonna jump and hope I start flapping.

FINAL THOUGHTS

So, the Jae Birds are set to be released on Thursday.

Despite being a bit apprehensive about a collaborative project, I have thoroughly enjoyed myself and am delighted with the final results.
I think that we have worked very successfully together, with clear collaborative ideas and equal delegation of roles. We have maintained constant correspondence with one another to share our thoughts and to ensure that everyone is on track with their section of work.
I have personally learnt a tremendous amount of new skills from watching my team mates. These include Screen Printing, of which I have gone from an amateur to quite a pro and general Indesign techniques. I have also learnt that I work well in a group and am capable of coming up with lots of ideas.

The aim of our project was to create something inspired by our gallery trips, to work freely and to produce something worthy of our portfolios.
I believe that we have fulfilled our goals.
The time we have spent together has been successful on so many levels and I hope that you like our work.

Jae bird Collaboration

Once we had created our individual layers we could see what worked and what didn't. Then we worked together designing our leaflet.

Putting together the layers

The Jae birds have collaborated the whole way through this project and we have had fun with it. One of the pieces that we are working on is in a number of layers and this is showing the way collaborated the piece.

Jae Birds Printing

We all took part in the long process that is printing, however its great fun and looks great when done properly, which once you have done as many sheets as us you are a pro at the end.

O and i did do some, just i was the one taking the photos.
